Styled as a Dublin industrial pub, the Brockway Public House is a natural for a St. Patrick’s Day blow out. Located at 12525 Old Meridian Street in Carmel, Brockway has been serving up a variety of beer, spirits, and good food for ten years. In the beginning they had only five taps, one of which was Guinness. They have been one of the top sellers of Guinness in the country and have won “Best Pint of Guinness” twice. This is an award from Guinness that considers the number of pints poured and the quality of the pour. Those five taps have grown to thirty allowing plenty of room for sister company, Danny Boy Beer Works, to pour a number of their “wicked, awesome” brews and other guest taps as well. In addition to the beer, Brockway boasts over 100 different bourbons, scotches, and whiskies, including over 30 Irish whiskeys.
The Brockway’s St. Patrick’s party is one of the largest in the area and has been for ten years. It is certainly the biggest in Hamilton County. They put up a tent in the street just south of the pub and will go all day 9:00 AM to 3:00 AM both Friday and Saturday, March 16th & 17th. There will be a great deal of Irish food available, as well as music all day both days. Of course the beer and spirits will flow as well. The event supports the local Carmel Fire Department. The fire fighters host events at the party such as the Keg Toss and the Pumper Pull which involves teams taking turns pulling a vintage pumper down the street. They will also have Carmel Fire Department T-shirts for sale and host other activities and events.
Attendance has numbered in the thousands for St. Patrick’s Day in the past and more are expected this year. So, if you are looking for an authentic Irish themed party with several hundred of your closest friends, Brockway Public House is the place to be for St. Patty’s this year.
